The Senior Producer is responsible for working closely with HMX’s clients to understand their business objectives and lead internal teams to create outstanding creative solutions.

Acting as the primary client contact for project development, the successful candidate will work closely with the creative and account teams in order to create and lead a fun and productive working environment. This role is about leadership, strong business acumen, grace under pressure, and a firm commitment to quality throughout all aspects of execution. The successful candidate must LOVE production and post production, be fun to work with, and passionate about producing original content that meets our client brief and expectations, as well as our own ambitions. This job is much more about people than it is about spreadsheets and Gantt charts. However, the numbers must add up and be nicely organised, and this role requires the knowledge and experience to have the right talent in place at the right time, all while navigating changing circumstances.

The Senior Producer is accountable for more than running a great project on time and on budget. The Senior Producer is a management level role and he/she is responsible for mentoring and supporting other Producers, expanding HMX’s creative networks, and ensuring that our clients have a predictably great experience on every project. The Senior Producer is a production consultant to the creative team, a trusted advisor to our clients, and an ace recruiter of talent. Further roles and responsibilities:

Scoping projects – working with clients to define expectations and requirements, and planning solutions accordingly in partnership with account and creative teams;
Producing (creative) – ownership of the final product and impacting what hits the final screen at all stages of development. Must have strong ideas, opinions, and an eagle eye for detail;
Producing (line) – researching creative directions, budgeting, scheduling, hiring, and setting up shoots.
Post producing – Scheduling and supervising post production including editing, 3D production, compositing, specialised visual effects work, and music production.
Managing other producers – expanding the skills and knowledge of other producers through a combination of leading by example, providing direction on larger projects and providing support and advice on smaller projects;
Production knowledge – must have extensive live action production experience and an innate ability to see around corners.
Post knowledge – must have a firm understanding of post pipelines in order to formulate rock solid planning with reasonable production time lines.

HMX worked with Sony this summer to launch this futuristic new product. The world’s first Head Mounted Display is designed to deliver an immersive 3D home theatre experience.

This project was a collaboration between our teams in Los Angeles (film and photo shoot) and London (all post and visual effects), and was completed start to finish in approximately six weeks.

The primary purpose of the 60 second spot was to support the global product announcement by Sony CEO Sir Howard Stringer at IFA in Germany, with secondary usage worldwide via online channels.

HMX has also created a series of feature modules to accompany the product introduction video, which explain the technical features and benefits in greater detail.

HMX recently worked with Sony to launch the NEX range of compact system cameras. The NEX is a compact camera with interchangeable lenses, offering DSLR-like picture quality along with point and shoot simplicity.

HMX worked with Sony teams across Asia, North America, Europe and Latin America to consolidate requirements and prepare a range of global digital assets. These included a flagship global product benefit video, TVCs for Latin America and the Middle East, a series of interactive modules for US and European deployment, and digital display ads for an online campaign in Canada.

Lenovo is rapidly rising up the rankings (currently 3rd largest PC vendor worldwide), and HMX is thrilled to be a part of it. Although these products are getting a bit prettier, they are famous because they can take a serious kicking without missing a beat.

HMX works closely with the teams in the US and China to develop online commercials and product tour videos for new ThinkPad products. Most recently, HMX has played an integral role in rolling out the new global campaign “For Those Who Do” across Lenovo’s product lines.

Within this stream you will find a selection of ThinkPad spots, including a long format video that covers the entire line up for 2011. This video was shot in early 2011 between Los Angeles and New Mexico.

The ThinkPad Tablet is the first business focused Tablet to market, and we delivered a flagship product tour video, as well as three user stories.

The product tour covers a range of important business features, while the user stories feature a tax consultant, graduate veterinary student, and a sales executive.

HMX has been working with Sony’s α (alpha) team since the initial launch of the sub-brand in mid-2006.

Over these five years we have had the opportunity to work on some amazing projects connected to new products that have made a major mark on the industry. Most recently, this includes products from Sony’s new super-fast Translucent Mirror (SLT) line up, and the category defining NEX camera system initially launched in 2010.

Within this stream you will find a selection of HMX alpha spots. These videos have been deployed around the world at high profile industry events, as TV spots, within digital campaigns, and through social media channels.

Alpha projects are always an exhilarating challenge, and some of our favourites here have involved some incredible locations. HMX has shot commercials for the alpha team in Salar de Uyuni, Bolivia and the Chilean Andes, as well as locally at various locations within the UK, Los Angeles and San Francisco.

In addition to video production, HMX also provides Sony with lifestyle photography and online 3D product and feature modules for new product launches.

The IdeaPad K1 is Lenovo’s first Tablet (Android), and HMX produced a flagship product tour video for multi-purpose usage, as well as three user stories for the online product pages.

Ideapad is Lenovo’s line of consumer notebooks. HMX supports Ideapad launches with product tour videos highlighting various use cases and key product features

This particular example is based on a real London fashion PR entrepreneur, and showcases key features of the new U300s. The U300s is the first Intel i5/i7 Ultrabook from Lenovo, which is the slimmest, lightest notebook ever released by Lenovo.

At the beginning of 2011, Lenovo announced a new brand of ThinkPad® - the Edge. Targeted at small business users, the Edge features progressive new design, and remains true to the original ThinkPad® values of outstanding performance and reliability.

Lenovo partnered with HMX to create several videos for the new Edge brand and line up, and continues to work with HMX on new Edge projects. The videos that HMX create showcase key benefits and design features, and they reach millions of customers across social media sites and Lenovo’s own websites in 14 languages.

In 2010, Sony announced the arrival of an entirely new line up of BRAVIA® televisions revolutionary monolithic design and a host of cutting edge new technologies such as 3D viewing.

HMX worked closely with Sony on both sides of the Atlantic for the product launch. We created a line up teaser for use online and at the global press event, as well as an immersive online micro-site for the US market. The micro-site features a photo-realistic CGI environment, and provides customers with a unique perspective on the philosophy and benefits behind the innovative new design.

HMX also created 14 individual 90-second HD videos for each of the new BRAVIA® products, which are used online and syndicated across retail in Europe and the US.

The entire BRAVIA® range is also available in Studio Infinity, and is used extensively by Sony’s agency partners to create stills for online and print.
